Frequently Asked Questions

A selection of the most common questions we get asked, in no particular order..

  • Do you work on Chinese bikes?

    • By far the most common question we get asked - and YES, we do! But please click here for further information.
  • What about trikes and quads?

    • We have worked on trikes in the past, all we ask that your trike is of “Motorcycle origin”. Boom Trikes or similar VW or Reliant based Trikes are not something we cover at present. Work on Quad bikes is very dependent on the issue you are facing but ordinarily, no.

  • Can I get the bits for you to fit?

    • Yes, we are happy to fit customer-supplied parts. However, we will offer no warranty on these parts should they fail or be incorrect. We always recommend fitting OEM Parts where possible.

  • Will you charge me to “come and have a look”?

    • No, we don’t charge for an appraisal visit - we’ll likely try to visit you after a job local to you so it would likely be in the evening, but we won’t charge you.

  • Do you stock parts? or will I have to wait?

    • Due to the varying nature of our work, we do not carry stock of specific components. Consumables such as brake fluids, oils, washers, fuses etc, are always kept in stock but items such as fork seals, brake pads, chains, gaskets etc. are ordered in for specific jobs.

  • Do you charge call-out fees?

    • Yes and No - If you live within a 5 mile radius of our workshop on Pen Mill then no, we don’t. This covers all of Yeovil and some of the surrounding villages such as Tintinhull, Yeovil Marsh, Sherborne, Mudford, Ilchester and RNAS Yeovilton. For anywhere else, please click here for a breakdown.

  • Can you transport my bike to the workshop for me?

    • No, sadly our Insurance does not permit us to transport customer vehicles. Our friends at DJ Recovery have a specialised Motorcycle Recovery Van which can offer this service. Click here for their details.

  • Do you do breakdowns?

    • If you have broken down at home, or an effective repair can be done at the roadside in a safe place then yes, we can help. If your bike is damaged and will require recovery, then DJ Recovery would be our recommendation. They can transport the bike back to the workshop safely where we can effect a repair.

  • Do you do MOT’s?

    • We are able to outsource Motorcycle MOT’s and can obtain priority appointments at short notice. We use a 3rd Party garage to ensure impartiality. Any MOT work required can be carried out and resubmitted for re-test before your bike is returned if needed.

  • Do you tyres?

    • Yes, but we ask that you visit our workshop to do this. We will offer this as a mobile service by Spring 2026.

  • Do you do custom work?

    • No, we do not offer welding, custom fabrication, paint or modification services at this time.

  • What about old oil and parts?

    • We are a Licensed Waste Carrier and are registered with the Environment Agency (CBDL599257) to ensure old oils and parts are disposed of safely and responsibly.

  • Can you stamp my service book?

    • Yes, we have a company stamp with our details on it to keep your service book up to date.

  • Will I get an invoice?

    • Yes, although for the remainder of 2025 we are not VAT Registered and are operating as a “Sole Trader”

  • Do you offer bike storage?

    • Not dedicated storage no, but your bike is welcome to stay with us at our secure premises while work is being carried out or, while we are waiting for parts to arrive. Once work is completed, we expect you to collect your machine within 48hrs.

  • What don’t you do?

    • We try to keep this to a minimum but we reserve the right to NOT take on work where we think it will be problematic or require excess specialist tools. We carry £1000’s worth of specialist service tools but repairs that require manufacturer-specific tools are likely to be refused. Typical examples of this are Ducati’s due their unique drive-train setup and electrical diagnostics on modern bikes where Dealer-specific software is required (Excluding BMW as we have access to this). Motorcycles requiring work on electrical suspension components will certainly, and politely, be declined.
